2018

The Camas-Washougal Post-Record recently won a first-place General Excellence award for newspapers our size in Washington state and Managing Editor Kelly Moyer took home the first-place “News Writer of the Year” award in the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association (WNPA) 2018 Better Newspaper Contest (BNC).

Winners were announced at the WNPA’s 131st annual meeting, held Oct. 11-13 in Yakima, Washington.

Post-Record reporters also took home six other first-place awards, four second-place awards and two third-place awards.

Following is a list of the 2018 BNC winners at The Post-Record:

 

First Place:

2019

The Camas-Washougal Post-Record recently won a first-place General Excellence award for newspapers its size in Washington state at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association (WNPA)’s 2019 Better Newspaper Contest.

Winners were announced at the WNPA’s 132nd annual meeting, held Oct. 10-12 in Olympia, Washington.

The Post-Record editorial staff also took home 10 awards for reporting and editorial writing.

Following is a list of the 2019 Better Newspaper Contest winners at the Post-Record:

2020

The Camas-Washougal Post-Record earned seven journalism awards, including four first-place reporting awards, at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association’s 2020 Better Newspaper Contest, held virtually on Friday, Oct. 9.

Kelly Moyer, the Post-Record managing editor, placed third in the WNPA’s “News Writer of the Year” competition, which is open to all non-daily newspaper writers in the state of Washington.

Post-Record reporters also took home six other journalism awards for the following articles and series of articles:

2021

The Washington Newspaper Publishers Association awarded The Camas-Washougal Post-Record 10 journalism awards this week, during the WNPA’s virtual presentation of its 2021 Better Newspaper Contest awards on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Post-Record reporters nabbed five first-place journalism awards for their environmental, sports news, general feature, lifestyle and arts coverage; four second-place awards for education, COVID-19 coverage, election and business reporting; and one third-place award, also for election coverage.
