Delmar W. Dixon Jr. died Nov. 27, 2010. He was 73.

George Frederick Heller died peacefully Dec. 1, 2010, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. He was 86.

Sgt. Jason D. Peto

Sgt. Jason Darren Peto, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, died Dec. 7, 2010, at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland after fighting bravely and honorably in Afghanistan defending his country and his Lord. He was 31.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 12:30 p.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17010 N.E. 9th St., Vancouver. Viewing will be held at Brown’s Funeral Home, 410 N.E. Garfield St., Camas, on Friday, Dec. 17, from noon to 5 p.m. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Thursday, Dec. 23, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd; Riverside, CA 92518-2740. James S. ‘Stan’ Steele

James Stanley “Stan” Steele died Dec. 8, 2010, at his home in Camas with his family at his side after courageously battling a 60 year battle with Type I diabetes. He was 72.
