Community encouraged to ‘Share the Warmth’

Employees of a local real estate office are once again collecting coats and blankets so that they can “Share the Warmth” with children and teenagers in need this holiday season.

Through Friday, Dec. 17, new or gently used coats and winter clothing can be dropped off at the Windermere/Crest Realty Co., offices located at 401 N.E. Third Ave., weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m.

The coats and blankets will be distributed through the Inter-Faith Treasure House, which serves citizens in need in Camas and Washougal.

The “Share the Warmth,” donation drive is held annually by many Windermere offices throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

For more information, contact Brandon Roberts at 834-3344 or Brandonroberts@windermere.com.

The Fort Vancouver chapter of S.C.O.R.E. will offer a business management and tax planning workshop Nov. 18 in Camas.

The event, which will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., will cover how to write off the costs of business assets, bookkeeping and accounting issues, as well as tax implications for different business structures.

Cost to attend is $35 per person. To register, visit www.scorevancouver.org/workshops/calendar.

Chamber holds holiday raffle

A local raffle will offer the chance to win the “golden ticket.”

The two winners of the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce’s raffle will receive two airline tickets each to travel anywhere Alaskan/Horizon Air flies, including Hawaii and Mexico.

Only 135 tickets will be sold. Each $20 ticket gives the purchaser two chances to win.

The winner will be drawn at the Chamber’s holiday luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 9.

Proceeds from the raffle will support the programming of the chamber.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call 834-2472 or visit 422 N.E. Fourth Ave.
