The Camas paper mill will be conducting a “multiple casualty incident” drill on Friday, Oct. 29, beginning at 8 a.m.

According to Georgia-Pacific Community Affairs Coordinator Nancy Viuhkola, the purpose of the drill is to give two dozen emergency medical technicians experience in an incident with multiple victims and the Mill Emergency Response Team practice in search and rescue and decontamination in a hazardous materials incident.

The drill, which will be set within a scenario involving an earthquake in Clark County resulting in an explosion and chemical leak at the mill, will include an appearance by Life Flight at noon, and three ambulances.

Assisting G-P with medical support during the drill will be North County Fire and Rescue. The event will be held at the mill’s old non-woven building at Northeast Ninth Avenue and Drake Street.
