The fifth Tom Wallenborn Golf Classic returns to Camas Meadows Saturday, Sept. 17, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

There will be sponsored holes and games, hosted by various Camas High School athletic teams and community partners. In addition, there will be longest and straightest drive competitions, a hole-in-one contest for a chance to win a car donated by Westlie Ford, and a putting contest for more prizes. There will also be a barbecue lunch, silent and live auction and an awards ceremony.

Winners of the tournament will have their names inscribed on a commemorative trophy that will be displayed at Camas High School, and will be updated annually. The victors also receive personal trophies.

Wallenborn graduated from CHS in 1956. He is a member of the Camas Athletic Hall of Fame, and was a former activities director in the district. He continues to serve Camas athletes as the head coach of the Papermaker girls golf team.

Proceeds benefit Camas School District athletic programs.

To register for the event, sponsor a hole or activity, or donate live and silent auction items, contact Wanda Miller at 904-3001. Forms are also available online at www.camas.wednet.edu/boosters/news.html.
