On Sunday, Sept. 25, two Alumni Football USA games are going to be played at Fishback Stadium in Washougal.

Washington State Director Phil Weber is looking for former Camas, Washougal, Heritage and Battle Ground high school students to play against each other. The games are open to all alumni in their late teens, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and up. Alumni Football USA supplies all of the equipment and officials.

“This is all about giving these guys one more chance to play football,” Weber said. “It will be the time of their lives.”

To play, go to www.alumnifootballwashington.com, click on “game registration” and “find a team.”

Click on the “3A” link for Camas, the “2A” link for Washougal, or the “4A” link for Heritage and Battle Ground. A $95 registration fee includes a game video and a T-shirt.

George Dowling has been selected to be the head coach for Camas. Papermaker alumni players include Joey Gibson, Ryan Slyter, Randall Cline, Michael Cranfill, Jeremy Brock, Aaron Hartshorn, Tim Hartshorn, Jason Stevenson, David Morales, Randy Morales, Justin Bay, Chris Clark, Josh Heaward, Kory Lauberth, Rick Copsey, Nikko Listek, Justin Strode, Matt Momb, Sydney Vailea, Cory Forgey and Jerry Knutson.

A head coach for Washougal has not yet been named. Panther alums signed on to play are Josh Walker, Chris Leamer, Jordan Fuller, Trenton Pearce, Ryan Umbarger, Ian Rathgeber, Kyle Crockford, Ben O’Hara, John Hass, Anthony Utton and Kevin O’Bryant.

After months of corresponding by telephone or e-mail, Weber and the alumni players met face-to-face for the first time Sunday.

“It was a thrill for me to finally meet the guys I have been talking to all summer. It puts a face to all the names and phone numbers,” Weber said. “We all feel like we have a good plan in place. Camas is already scheduling practices. It’s just great when you find people who have a willingness to make these games happen.”
