After several hours, a lock down for the Washougal School District has been lifted.

Hathaway and Gause Elementary School students were released at the normal time.

Cape Horn-Skye Elementary and Canyon Creek Middle School students were released from school at 3:30 p.m., with bus routes running an hour late.

Jemtegaard Middle School, Washougal High School and Excelsior High School bus routes were running an hour and 15 minutes late.

Areas of Washougal are still secured by the police and were not accessible by buses. Bus stops normally between 32nd and 34th Streets and also between Evergreen Boulevard and “G” Street were rerouted to the District Office.

The lock down occurred after a fire, explosions and gunshots at a Washougal home at 3275 “F” Place this morning.
