A quilt shop will be the newest addition to the downtown Camas business landscape.

Washougal resident Nancy Sullivan will open River Quilts at 337 N.E. Fourth Ave., next to Runyan’s Jewelers, in March. An exact date has not been determined.

Sullivan said she plans to offer quilting supplies of all kinds, as well as quilts, table runners and wall hangings. There will also be a selection of classes geared toward quilting enthusiasts with skill levels ranging from beginning to advanced.

Sullivan, who recently moved back to Washougal from California, spent many years working for Borders and Barnes and Noble book stores. She said it was her sister who encouraged her to venture out on her own and become a business owner.

“It’s time for me to do my own thing,” she said. “I’m very excited about it. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
