Still looking for a way to make Valentine’s Day memorable? A local event offers the opportunity for sweethearts to enjoy an evening out, all while benefitting a good cause.

A Sweetheart Pasta Dinner and Auction will be held Saturday, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., at the Washougal High School commons. For $7 per person or $20 per family of four ($5 for each additional family member), attendees will receive pasta, salad, bread and drink. Ice cream sundaes can be purchased for an additional $2 each.

The evening, which is being organized by the 2011 WHS Grad Night Committee, will include an auction and raffle of baskets filled with items donated by local businesses and WHS families. Among the goodies offered will be a AAA membership, a color consultation with an interior designer, golf trips, a fishing excursion, gift certificates to local restaurants, tickets to the stage musical “Billy Elliot,” and Jado faucet kits.

To complete the evening, attendees will also have the opportunity to see the WHS drama department’s production of “Harvey,’ which begins at 7 p.m., at the Washburn Performing Arts Center at the high school. Tickets for the production are $5 each for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students.

Proceeds from the Sweetheart Pasta Dinner and Auction will support the 2011 drug- and alcohol-free party that follows graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 11.

WHS is located at 1201 39th St. For more information or to donate an auction or raffle item, contact Dana Seekins at 835-0394.
