A Camas youth service group that plans to rehabilitate homes and parks in New Orleans this summer is organizing a fund raising dinner.

Homemade, Southern-style fried chicken will be served Sunday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the social hall at Zion Lutheran Church, 824 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Camas School Superintendent Mike Nerland will oversee the auction portion of the event. Kylee Lessard, a Camas High School senior and member of the Zion youth group, said auction items will include Portland Trail Blazer tickets, art, a severe weather kit and a car wash kit, an American flag set, a group lacrosse/personal training conditioning session and two piano, voice, trumpet, saxophone, flute or clarinet lessons.

Tickets for the dinner and auction are $10 each if bought in advance at Zion during office hours Monday, from 8 a.m. to noon, and Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $15 each.
