The former owner of Jo’s Restaurant, in downtown Washougal, is making a comeback — again.

Jo Broersma, 82, is back in the kitchen, making a variety of breakfast dishes at Angelo’s New York Style Pizza, in Camas.

Last year, she returned for two months to make her specialities such as biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, omelets, pancakes and French toast.

“She is baking — what she used to do at Jo’s Restaurant for years,” said her son Ron. “Everything is exactly how she did it for 40 years. It is Jo’s Restaurant in the morning.”

The mother and son co-own Angelo’s Pizza and Jo’s Restaurant.

Lunch buffets feature soup, salad, pizza by the slice, spare ribs and sweet and sour meatballs.

Banquet facilities, with views of the Washougal River, are available to seat up to 100 people for breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings, as well as birthday parties and sports awards celebrations.

Jo’s Restaurant is open Monday through Friday, from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, from 7 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Angelo’s serves lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday, until 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, to 10 p.m.

Jo’s Restaurant and Angelo’s New York Style Pizza are located at 3136 N.E. Third Ave. For more information, call 835-1205.
