Boldt will deliver ‘State of the County’ in Washougal
Washougal High School will host the State of the County address on Thursday, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The event, free and open to the public, will be presented by Clark County Board of Commissioners Chairman Marc Boldt in the Washburn Performing Arts Center.
Boldt is expected to speak about community needs and public issues after the commissioners recognize volunteers for extraordinary efforts in 2011.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food, which will be collected by the Washougal Salvation Army and distributed to families in the area.
“We keep hearing that service organizations are struggling to serve more and more families who have trouble feeding their kids,” Boldt said. “This is a generous community, but the economy has been down so long that the need just keeps rising.”
