School District serving free summer lunches

The Washougal School District will serve free lunches to all children living in the district boundary who are younger than 18 years old, regardless of family income.

Meals will be provided at Hathaway Elementary School, 630 24th St., from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting July 9 and ending July 31. Meals must be consumed on site.

Locals earn Youth Achievement Awards

Several Camas and Washougal teens were honored with Youth Achievement Awards recently.

The awards were presented in 11 different categories.

Honorees from Camas include: Arts, Danielle Neblock and Feddiena Young; Citizenship, Rachel Kim, Jamie Kingsford, Chloe Olson; Courage, Tanya Davis, Logan Deeds, Emily Tubberville; Education, Alexander Pien, Austin Thomas; Leadership, Haylee Grunwald and Lindsay Wourms; Personal Achievement, Samantha Berthel, Joseph Driver, Rachel Liu, Timothy Liu, Emily McDonald. Tristan Robinson, Vitaly Stepanyuk; and Tolerance, Amanda Fleck, Zach Marshall.

Honorees from Washougal include: Arts, Sean Finucane, Nick Stevens; Business Enterprise, Josh Banks; Citizenship, Braman Warren; Courage, Hunter Nelson; Education, Geer McGee; Family Life, Cody Hebert; Inspiration, Carson Connors, Chloe Connors, Nicole Gamble; and Tolerance, Jaycob Bailey and Melia Stewart.

Students receive degrees from Gonzaga

The following Gonzaga University students have earned bachelor’s degrees from Gonzaga University.

Camas residents included Robert Feldman, bachelor of arts in Asian studies; Lea Weber, Cum Laude, B.A. in music; Meredith Hickman, B.A. in public relations; James Partee, B.A. of business administration; and Jack Barrett, Magna Cum Laude, bachelor of science in electrical engineering.

Reece Townsend of Washougal earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting.
