Drs. Dave and Tom Stinchfield of Discovery Dental, in Washougal, are challenging participants in Saturday's Student Stride for Education 5K run to "Beat the Docs." Both men, avid runners, will be wearing their Stride shirts with a red target on their backs. Any runner who can pass both doctors and cross the finish line ahead of them will be rewarded.

Two local dentists are challenging local residents to beat them to the finish line during Saturday’s Student Stride for Education.

The fundraising event for the Washougal Schools Foundation will be held at Washougal High School’s Fishback Stadium. Kindergarten, first- and second-grade students will run a 1.5K course, while third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students will run a 2K. Middle and high school students and adults will take part in the 5K run or walk or as volunteers. The final heat of the day is The Dash, a race for the “pre-kindy” crowd — just one lap around the track.
