Garland R. Mabe

Garland R. Mabe died May 22, 2012, at his home in Goldendale, Wash. He was 74.

A memorial service was held Monday at Community Grace Brethren Church in Goldendale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Goldendale Christian School, P.O. Box 603, Goldendale, WA 98620, or Community Grace Brethren Church Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, 1180 S. Roosevelt Ave., Goldendale, WA 98620.

Lorene Eggebraaten Hagen Ludvigson

Lorene Eggebraaten Hagen Ludvigson died May 19, 2012, in Vancouver. She was 94.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to the Ray Hickey Hospice House, 2112 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661.

Sharon (Tyler) Oleksak

Sharon (Tyler) Oleksak died of cancer May 16, 2012, at her home in Milwaukie, Ore. She was 55.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce R.Teigen.

A memorial service for Sharon was held May 21, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Gladstone, Ore.

Memorial donations can be made to Sharon’s favorite charity of many years, World Vision, to help less fortunate children around the world.

James ‘Jim’ D. Hendrickson

James “Jim” D. Hendrickson, of Camas, died unexpectedly May 16, 2012, at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver after a sudden illness. He was 64.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., at Living Hope Church, 2711 Andresen Road, in Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jim Hendrickson Relief Fund No. 104702, at Lacamas Community Credit Union, to help Suzanne with medical expenses.

Steven Y. Dayley

Steven Y. Dayley died May 19, 2012, doing what he loved most; enjoying the natural beauty of this earth and riding his bike with his wife Karen and close friends. In the sheer pleasure of living his passion, Steve was accidently hit by a truck and lost his life. He was 62.

Steven’s life was celebrated Monday at the L.D.S. Vancouver East Stake Center. Interment will be private at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.

Arthur ‘Art’ Gaiani

Arthur “Art” Gaiani, a long-time resident of Camas, died May 22, 2012, at home surrounded by family. He was 96.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 4, at 11 a.m., at the Camas Cemetery, followed by a reception at 1645 N.E. Ione Loop in Camas. Straub’s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Velma Goerig-Scribner

Velma Goerig-Scribner died May 20, 2012. She was 89.

She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Weiser, Idaho. She was a longtime Camas resident.

A graveside service will be held June 4, at 1 p.m., at Park Hill Cemetery in Vancouver.
