The Camas defenders celebrate with Connor Maloney (85) after he knocked the wind out of a Union receiver Friday, at McKenzie Stadium. The Papermakers shut out the Titans 22-0.

Camas turned the lights out on Union Friday night.

John Norcross, Colton Dowd, Jason Vailea, Vince Huber and Connor Maloney delivered some big hits. Zach Eagle and Jack Beall recovered fumbles. Eagle also intercepted a deep pass downfield to go along with a 36-yard touchdown catch from Reilly Hennessey.

Eagle almost crossed the goal line one more time off a short pass from Hennessy, but the Titans brought him down on the 1-yard line. Norcross dove into the end zone for a touchdown on the next play. Roldan Alcobendas kicked a 41-yard field goal, and Hennessey broke loose for a 20-yard touchdown run.

It all added up to a 22-0 victory for the Papermakers in the pouring rain. Camas is the first football team to shut out Union since the school opened in 2007.

The Papermakers return to McKenzie Stadium next Friday to face the Heritage Timberwolves. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Camas then hosts Battle Ground for its homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 26, at Doc Harris Stadium.
