The building that previously housed the Moose Lodge was demolished Monday morning by City of Camas crews to make way for the new Lacamas Lake Lodge and Conference Center. The city’s $1.9 million project includes a new 5,000 square foot building that will consist of a large event space, two smaller meeting rooms, office space, kitchen, restrooms, storage, large covered patio and a 60-foot long dock. Construction is expected to get underway in June, and be completed in early 2014. “It went very quickly,” Public Works Director Eric Levison told the Camas City Council on Monday. “By 9 a.m. it was almost a pile of rubble. The concrete will be removed tomorrow. It will be a clean site and ready for our contractor to build a new facility.”
