It had almost been three years since Lakes eliminated Camas in the 2010 state quarterfinals at Doc Harris Stadium.
This town had not forgotten about that day, and neither did those seniors in the Papermaker football pads. They had a job to do.
“I remember looking into the eyes of those seniors after that game and not wanting to feel how they felt,” said quarterback Reilly Hennessey. “Lakes is the only team we have lost to at the new Doc Harris Stadium. Without a doubt, we wanted to win this game for those guys who put Camas on the map and for our town.”
Camas evaporated Lakes 49-0 Friday, at Doc Harris Stadium.
Michael DiGenova, James Price and Zach Eagle caught touchdown passes from Hennessey.
Eagle made three impressive punt returns that led to touchdowns, and he also intercepted a pass on defense.
Nate Beasley, Cole Zarcone, Hennessey and Jordan Del Moral added touchdown runs.
Drew Clarkson played in his first game since battling back from a strained hamstring and stage 2 testicular cancer.
