The organizers of the Crossroads Gathering Festival are looking forward to 2015, after deciding not to hold the event this year.

One of the event’s planners, Jeff Guard, said the fundraising campaign needed to start earlier than it had, and there were some logistical issues.

Organizers had been seeking event sponsors, to cover the cost of the entertainment and insurance.

The festivities had been planned for Saturday, Aug. 23, near the Port of Camas-Washougal marina, 24 S. “A” St., Washougal.

The event is intended to celebrate the area’s history, with the proceeds benefiting the Oregon Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Harold W. Busch Walkers for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Planning for next year’s festival is expected to start in September.

Previously mentioned ideas included boat building activities, paddle board demonstrations, a variety of exhibitors and food vendors, a beer garden and a concert featuring Jimmie Rodgers.
