Bauer lands on dean’s list

Jonathan Andrew Bauer of Camas has been named to 2013 fall semester dean’s list at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Students named to the dean’s list must earn a GPA of at least 3.5 and take a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Credit union accepting applications

Lacamas Community Credit Union is now accepting applications from high school seniors for its Joseph J. Boyle Memorial Scholarship Program. Applications must be received by Thursday, April 17, at 5 p.m.

The application packet and eligibility guidelines are available for download from the credit union’s web site, www.lacamas.org. The selection committee will choose three recipients to receive $1,500 each based on their academic excellence, leadership, community involvement and financial need.

Applications can be dropped off at any Lacamas location or mailed to credit union headquarters at P.O. Box 1108, Camas, WA 98607. All submittals must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

Riverside School sets kindergarten round-up

Riverside Christian School will host a kindergarten round-up from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the school, 463 N. Shepherd Road, Washougal.

Parents and/or guardians and their incoming kindergarten students are invited to attend and learn more about the school.

Kohl’s offers scholarships

Nominations of outstanding kids ages 6 to 18 are being accepted to receive scholarship money and prizes through the Kohl’s Cares program.

Kohl’s department stores will award nearly 400,000 in scholarships and prizes to more than 2,300 youth who have made a positive impact in their communities. Parents, teachers, neighbors, friends are encouraged to nominate youth in celebration of their time, energy and passion for helping others.

Two nominees from each of more than 1,100 Kohls stores nationwide will win a $50 Kohl’s gift card, and nearly 200 will win regional scholarships worth 1,000 toward higher education. Ten national winners will be awarded a total of 10,000 in scholarships.

Last year, 36 kids from Washington were awarded prizes and scholarships.
