A detached garage and all of its contents were destroyed in a late night fire in Camas on Jan. 15.

Camas-Washougal Fire Department units were dispatched to reports of a structure fire at 2525 N.E. Everett St., in Camas. On arrival, crews found a detached garage fully involved in fire. The structure was unsafe to enter, so firefighters extinguished the fire from the exterior of the building while keeping the fire from spreading to a nearby house. In addition to the contents of the garage being destroyed, according to CWFD Deputy Fire Marshal Randy Miller a 1972 boat parked in the car port next to it was also damaged.
