A building, that is approximately 11,000 square feet and previously served as the site for weddings, receptions and meetings, is the newest assisting living facility in Camas.

Fairgate Estate, a former bed and breakfast on Prune Hill, is now licensed by the state and will be ready to welcome residents in a few weeks.

An open house will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 2213 N.W. 23rd Ave.

Jack and Christine Foyt, the owners of Fairgate Estate, will attend along with their daughter, Jennifer Coriell, the acting administrator.

Coriell said the assisted living facility will offer 24-hour care, including medication management, companionship, and assistance with bathing and dressing.

“We have seen a rising need in our community for individuals to have a private, comfortable setting in which feels like home, yet offers things like transportation, day trips, activities and homemade meals,” she said.

“We are a boutique setting for an assisted living facility,” Coriell added. “It means a business that serves a sophisticated or specialized clientele. In this case, we serve a limited number of people and give one-on-one attention and care to each individual.”

There are 10 suites currently, and another five will be added in a former conservatory in a few months.

“Just as my mother has done for the last 15 years, the legacy continues and our desire is to bless and nurture those living here,” Coriell said.
