Wedding for April 7, 2015

Johnson-Higley

Emily Johnson and Jacob Higley, both of Washougal, were married March 7, 2015, at Gateway Community Church in Washougal. Pastor Mathias Califf officiated. A reception was held at Lacamas Lake Lodge in Camas.

The bride is the daughter of Eldon and Laurie Johnson of Washougal. She graduated from Washougal High School in 2009 and Washington State University in 2014. She is employed by the Camas School District.

The groom is the son of Carolyne Higley and the late Steven Higley. He is a 2009 graduate of Washougal High School, and studies fire science at Portland Community College. He is currently employed as a project manager at Silver Star Industries.

The maid of honor was Ashley Johnson, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Kari and Kaitlyn Johnson, twin sisters of the bride, Sarah Higley, sister of the groom, and Casey Lawson and Maureen King, friends of the bride.

The best man was Tom Carroll, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Lukas Johnson, brother of the bride, Austin Pfeifer, Greg Barrette, Sean McCarty and Quinn Johnson, all friends of the groom.

Flower girls were twin sisters Aubrey and Adison Gay.

The couple was married on the 10th anniversary of becoming girlfriend and boyfriend in the eighth grade, and on the groom’s parent’s wedding anniversary.

The wedding colors were navy, gray and yellow. The church and reception were decorated with blue hydrangeas, daffodils, white roses and forsythia in vintage milk glass.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Sunriver, Ore., and are at home in Washougal.
