Household, hazardous waste disposal day is April 18

The annual Household and Hazardous Waste Disposal Day will be held Saturday, April 18, at the Camas Operations Center.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Camas residents living within city limits can drop off their household waste items at 1620 S.E. Eighth Ave.

Accepted items include furniture, roofing material, scrap metal, plastic and wood. Yard debris and tires will not be accepted.

Proof of address may be requested. Donations of canned food will be accepted.

Also from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., city of Camas and Clark County residents can drop off hazardous waste.

Permitted materials include paint, pesticides, solvents, batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, antifreeze, household cleaners, and products labeled toxic, poison, corrosive and flammable.

Participants are limited to 25 gallons or 220 pounds of waste per household in containers smaller than 5 gallons.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Camas residents can also dispose of yard debris at Triangle Resources, 612 S.E. Union St. A coupon that can be found in a utility bill is required.
