Camp Windy Hill sets winter camps

Camp Windy Hill is hosting two camps during winter break.

They are Holiday Camp Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 21 and 22; and Crafts Camp Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29 and 30.

Camp times are 1 to 5 p.m.

Fees are $70 for each camp if paid by Tuesday, Dec. 15.

Camps are designed for children ages 5 to 11.

VSO seeking entries for Young Artists Competition

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is seeking entries for its 22nd Annual Young Artists Competition.

Three winners will be selected to perform with the orchestra at a spring concert.

Students 18 years and younger, as of Jan. 4, 2016, who reside within a 135-mile radius of Vancouver and are currently studying with a private music instructor are eligible to compete in the categories of piano, strings and brass/woodwinds/percussion.

Applications are available at www.vancouversymphony.org.

The deadline is Jan. 4, 2016.

UNITE! annual survey available

UNITE! Washougal Community Coalition is conducting an annual survey to assess community attitudes in regard to substance abuse and underage drinking.

Those who live or work in Washougal are encouraged to complete the survey, which can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CWAON2015.

Grant available for local teachers

The Community Garden Club of Camas-Washougal is offering a new grant program which promotes knowledge of gardening and stewardship of the environment.
