Camas student to perform at library

Camas High School student Austin Colwell will perform live music at the Camas Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

He will perform an acoustic folk set as a part of his senior project. The library is located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. The event is suitable for all ages.

Local girl wins first in Patriot’s Pen contest

Hanna Morris, 11, of Camas, was honored at a Dec. 8 ceremony by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary Post 4278 for her essay on “What Freedom Means to Me.”

She received a first-place award in the competition for sixth-graders.

Morris will advance to the next stage of the competition.

Library to show winter break movies

The Camas Public Library is showing several movies during winter break.

All are welcome to the movies, which are shown on the library’s big screen and include free popcorn. The library is located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. All shows begin at 2 p.m.

Movies will be “Inside Out” (PG), Monday, Dec. 21; “Shaun the Sheep” (PG), Wednesday, Dec. 23; “Minions” (PG), Monday, Dec. 28: and “Ant-Man” (PG-13), Wednesday, Dec. 30.
