The lower level of Safefire includes an area to rent handguns, rifles, targets and eye and ear protection, for use in the indoor shooting range. Ammunition must be purchased at Safefire for the rental firearms. There are 27 air-conditioned lanes. Four types of membership can be purchased. Classes, such as introduction to handguns and practical rifle, will be taught, starting in January.
A woman who began to learn about the safe use, handling and storage of firearms when she was 10 years old has opened her first business — an indoor shooting range that also provides retail sales of guns and accessories, in Camas.
Danna Olson, 26, began bow and rifle hunting and passed a hunter’s safety course when she was 14.
