Metropolitan Productions organizes Yard, Garden & Patio Show

A former home-based business is managing the Yard, Garden & Patio Show for the first time.

Metropolitan Productions Inc., of Washougal, recently opened an office at 2011 Main St., in downtown Washougal.

The 13-year-old company purchased the Yard, Garden & Patio Show from the Oregon Association of Nurseries, in July 2014. The annual event will be held Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland.

Admission will be $12 for adults and $9 for senior citizens age 60 and older. There is no cost for children age 12 and younger to attend.

The show will include showcase gardens, outdoor cooking classes, wine and an urban edible garden.

Topics at complimentary seminars will include backyard makeovers, garden art, growing lilies, attracting and feeding pollinators, low maintenance plantings and planning a home greenhouse. Interactive activities for children will be provided by OMSI.

Vendors will display and sell art and yard decor, decks and fences, equipment and tools, furniture, garden structures, home improvement items, landscape products and services, soil and fertilizer.
