LWV hosts primary candidate forum

Camas-Washougal voters will cast ballots for County Council chair at-large

The League of Women Voters of Clark County is sponsoring a series of candidate forums in anticipation of the upcoming primary and general elections.

On Wednesday, July 15 at the Ridgefield Community Center, 210 N. Main Ave., from 6 to 8:30 p.m., candidates running for Clark County Councilor District 2, Battle Ground School District position 4, and Clark County Council chair – at large will appear.

On Thursday, July 16, at the Vancouver Community Library, 901″C” St., from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the forum’s agenda includes candidates running for Clark County Council chair – at large, Port of Vancouver commissioner district 2 and Vancouver City Council position 5.

The candidates will receive questions from a moderator. They receive a list of possible questions 30 minutes before the forum begins, and have the opportunity to deliver brief opening and closing statements.

Camas and Washougal voters will cast ballots in the primary for the Clark County Council chair-at-large position. Candidates are David Madore (Republican), Tom Mielke (Republican), Jeanne Stewart (Republican), Marc Boldt (no party preference) and Mike Dalesandro (Democrat).

The League of Women Voters of Clark County is a nonpartisan organization with a mission of promoting voter participation and education.

The forums will be available for viewing at www.cvtv.org.

Ballots for the Tuesday, Aug. 4 primary will be mailed Friday, July 17.
