Mikey Knight is the first male graduate of Camas High School with perfect attendance.

In 2,160 days of school, Mikey Knight has never skipped a beat. Or a day.

The Camas High School senior will be the first male graduate to have perfect attendance. He has attended Camas schools since the first grade.

“It just was never worth it to have to make up the work later and miss instructional time,” he said.

Of course, having three sisters before him achieve the feat was likely motivation as well: CHS grads Hilary, Allison and Kimberly all had perfect attendance.

“It’s nice to know that all of the days I have been in school have paid off,” he said.

Knight, who also participated in track and cross country, didn’t even want to miss a single class. He would schedule any medical or dental appointments before or after school.

“It’s harder to miss school and hearing the way the teacher may explain a certain concept,” he said. “Having to do it on my own is not something I wanted.”

Knight plans to attend Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, Utah next year, and major in mechanical engineering.

His parents are Nadine and Kelly Knight.
