The Harold W. Busch Walkers will host its 12th annual dinner, auction and raffle Saturday, May 9, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Big Foot Inn, 105 Pendleton Way, in Washougal. Proceeds benefit Alzheimer’s disease related causes.

All-you-can-eat hot dogs, chili, salad and dessert will be available for a minimum donation of $5 per person. The event is open to the public, ages 21 and older.

The auction will led by Washougal Mayor Sean Guard.

The Harold W. Busch Walkers is a locally based volunteer group that raises funds to support Alzheimer’s disease education and research. It was founded by Camas resident Linda Busch Pfeifle following the November 2000 death of her father, Harold W. Busch, from Alzheimer’s disease. The longtime Camas resident was 79.

The Big Foot Inn, owned by Jerry and Berta Knott, began hosting the Harold W. Busch Walkers auctions in 2003, and has done so ever since.

In 2014, through its crab feed and auction, the Harold W. Busch Walkers raised $12,600. Since 2003, they have amassed a grand total of $165,033.
