A former senior assistant and a former circulation supervisor at the Washougal Community Library are among four candidates for the position of branch manager at that location.

Janet Alder and Rachael Ries, along with Wally Clark and Mark Peterson, will be available to meet the public Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St.

Clark is the county librarian for the Mendocino County, California Library, and Peterson is the learning resource center director for Klamath Community College, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Janet Alder is the marketing and outreach coordinator, Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, while Ries is a public services librarian for the Vancouver Community Library.

Attendees of the reception will have a chance to meet, talk with and hear brief presentations from each of the candidates. Refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Washougal Community Library.

Comment forms will be available for individuals to provide feedback about the candidates to the hiring committee. The district expects to have a new Washougal branch manager in place by December.

Christine Hughey, 63, retired Oct. 10, after serving as the branch manager for four years. Questions about the reception can be directed to the library at 906-4860.
