Festive events, haunted houses are scheduled in October

Downtown Camas Merchants will hand out treats and other goodies uring the annual Boo Bash celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 28. It is one of many Halloween events happening in Camas and Washougal this month.

The haunted season has arrived, and there are plenty of Halloween activities and events for all ages in Camas and Washougal.
NorthLake Church
Family Fun Night

An evening of free, family-friendly activities will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., at NorthLake Church, 500 S.E. Everett Road, Camas.
It will include a pumpkin carving contest, photo booth, games, face painting and treats.

Boo Bash
The Downtown Camas Association’s annual Boo Bash will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Families are invited downtown to trick-or-treat in full costume at participating businesses, as well as the Camas Public Library and City Hall.

Trick or treat at Columbia Ridge Senior Living
The assisted living facility will host a trick or treat event Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at 2300 W. Ninth St., in Washougal. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 335-1238.
WHS Haunted Theater
Washougal High School drama students have organized a “Haunted Theater,” which will be held at the Washburn Performing Arts Center Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
It will be open for two shifts. A “creepy” shift is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., which is appropriate for younger children. It will be followed by a “super scary” shift from 9 to 11 p.m., which will be the “full-scale fright fest” experience.
Proceeds support the drama department.
The Washburn Performing Arts Center is located at WHS, 1201 39th St. The cost is $3 for the first trip through and $2 for extra trips.

Halloween
Boo-nanza

Halloween Boo-nanza, presented by Fireworks Photography and Wild Flour Cafe and Cupcakes, will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, from 1 to 8 p.m., at 3010 Evergreen Way, in Washougal.
For $11.95, trick-or-treaters can receive a 5- by 7-inch photo and an ice cream treat.

Warehouse Church
Harvest Carnival

Warehouse Christian Church, located at 621 Washougal River Road, is hosting a free harvest carnival Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The event includes games, face painting, a costume contest, studio pictures and candy. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in costumes, but nothing too scary or gory.

Coffinwood Manor
Coffinwood Manor is a Halloween themed yard display and walk-through haunted house in Washougal.
The display, located at 730 Ninth St., is filled with static and animated creatures, as well as a group of “scareactors.”
The display in the front yard is suitable for all ages, while the walk-through portion is for older kids and adults.
It will be open Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, from 7 to 11 p.m.
Admission is free. A fill-the-coffin food drive is being held in conjunction with the event. Donations will be given to the food bank at the Inter-Faith Treasure House, which serves local individuals and families in need.
