Celebrations Cotton
Al and Alta (Blair) Cotton, of Washougal, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
They met in San Diego while Al was in the Navy and Alta worked at the Navy airbase. They were married six weeks later on June 20, 1946. After Al’s discharge they moved to Washougal in 1947. He then went to work at Crown Zellerbach, and they joined Washougal United Methodist Church and remain active members.
The couple celebrated their anniversary during a church service, followed by a lunch reception. The event was attended by church members, out-of-town relatives, friends and family.
They have two children, Dale (Catherine) Cotton of Vancouver, Lois (Leo) Clark of Camas; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
