Brickzone Kids will host winter fundraiser

There will be a Grandma/Mommy & Me fundraiser at Brickzone Kids from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.

Girls and their mothers or grandmothers will choose from a variety of fabrics and trim to custom design a maxi-skirt for themselves, and then create a product write-up for a fashion show. They also wear their custom-made skirt and participate in a fashion show.

The event is designed for girls ages 4 and older.

Students named to dean’s list

Two Washougal residents, Garrett Reynolds and Bryce Reynolds, were named to the dean’s list at Carroll College in Helena, Montana.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn at least a 3.5 or higher GPA and take 12 graded credits.

Summer reading bookmark contest open

The Fort Vancouver Regional Library is hosting its annual bookmark contest through Thursday, March 31.

This year’s theme is “On your mark, Get set, READ!”

All children in kindergarten through 12th grade who live in or attend school in Clark county are eligible. Bookmarks will be judged on design, originality and reproducibility. Contest information is available at www.fvrl.org/bookmark-contest.

EHS hosting scholarship fundraiser

Excelsior High School will be sponsoring a “Souper” Supper at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Washougal High School Commons, 1201 39th St. The $15 charge will include a pottery bowl and the opportunity to taste approximately 20 soups. A dessert bar and beverages will also be available.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Cheryl Trent Memorial Scholarship Fund to replenish the scholarships awarded to graduating seniors from EHS.

A recipe book of all the soups will also be available for purchase.

Camas resident makes dean’s list

Xinyang Chen of Camas has been named to the fall dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Students must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA to be named to the list.

McTeacher Night set for March 2

Hathaway Elementary School McTeacher night will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at the Camas McDonald’s, 3354 N.E. Third Ave.

Twenty percent of all sales will be donated to the school.

Southwest Washington Science Fair is this Saturday

The Southwest Washington Science Fair will be held Saturday at Camas High School, 26900 S.E. 15th St.

While judging begins at 7:30 a.m., the fair exhibits will open to the general public at 1:30 p.m. Parents and community members are invited to drop in and interact with the students, and view their work in research and engineering. The awards presentation begins at 3:30 p.m. The event is free to attend.
