Ashley Victoria Johnson, of Washougal, and Richard Lee Schafer Jr., of North Plains, Oregon, have announced their plans to be married Aug. 6, 2016, in Vancouver.

Ashley Victoria Johnson, of Washougal, and Richard Lee Schafer Jr., of North Plains, Oregon, have announced their plans to be married Aug. 6, 2016, in Vancouver.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Eldon and Laurie Johnson of Washougal. She graduated from Washougal High School in 2004, and earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 2009 from Eastern Washington University, and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University in 2013. She is a teacher at Canyon Creek Middle School in Washougal.

The groom-to-be is the son of Richard and Barbara Schafer of North Plains. He is a 1995 graduate of Glencoe High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2000, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2005 and a master’s degree in engineering in 2010, all from Oregon State University. He is an engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
