Kenyan non-profit is the focus of upcoming fundraiser

Event will benefit the Kolunga Village Foundation

The Kolunga Village Foundation will be the beneficiary of a fundraiser at Rushing Water Yoga in Camas.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m., the “Tales from a Kenyan Village,” event will feature guest speaker Alphonce Okuku, the community development leader of the Kolunga Village Foundation.

According to its website the mission of the non-profit organization, founded in 2006, is to “create and implement sustainable projects as identified by the village residents that provide education, better health, and general well-being.”

Okuku will talk about upcoming volunteer trips to Kolunga Village and Rusinga Island. Kenyan tea and sweets will be served.

Rushing Water Yoga is located at 417 N.E. Birch St.
