Camas High flutist to perform with Vancouver Symphony

The Vancouver Symphony continues its 38th season with concerts on April 22 and 23 featuring three “gold medalist” students, who competed for the honor of performing with the symphony earlier this year.

Camas High School sophomore Ashley Teng will perform at both concerts, which take place at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 22 and at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 23, at Skyview Concert Hall, 1300 N.W. 139th St., Vancouver.

The conductor, Maestro Salvador Brotons, will lead Teng, a flutist, along with pianist Trevor Natiuk, a junior at Columbia Adventist Academy, and violinist Symphony Loss, a sophomore at Columbia River High School.

Gorge Artists announces open studios tour

The Gorge Artists will host their 11th annual Open Studios Tour, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 28-30. Forty juried artists will participate in the tour and feature artwork available in a variety of mediums and styles.

The tour is free and self-guided, with studios on both sides of the Columbia River Gorge, from Cascade Locks and The Dalles in Oregon, to Trout Lake in Washington.
