Camas Gallery

SENIOR CITIZENS

Meals on Wheels

Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served Monday through Thursday, at 11:30 a.m., in the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed. Camas Senior Center

The Camas seniors group travels to the Red Wind Casino on the Nisqually Indian Reservation in Thurston County, Washington, on the third Monday of each month. The bus leaves at 7 a.m., and returns by 5 p.m. The next trip is Monday, Nov. 20, and the bus will load at Pendleton Woolen Mill, 2 Pendleton Way, Washougal. Washougal Senior Center

The Washougal Senior Center provides coffee Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. through lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m. by Meals on Wheels. On Monday, at 11 a.m., the center hosts a food bank, and at 1 p.m., a “hand and foot” clinic. On Monday and Wednesday, at 10 a.m., the center hosts an exercise class. On Friday, at 10 a.m., the class will be held in Camas. Billiards is played on Tuesday and Thursday, at 1 p.m. Music with Jeffree will be held on Tuesday and Music with Gabe is on Thursday, at 11 a.m. The watercolor class will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. On Wednesday, there will be an exercise class at 10 a.m., gift bingo at 11 a.m., and regular bingo at 1 p.m. On Thursday, the tai chi class (held in Camas) begins at 9:30 a.m. The center also hosts pinochle at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Camas Public Library

Read to Cooper, the dog. Cooper will be at the library every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. Each session is 15 minutes and advanced sign-up is required. The Simply Write: Critique Group meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. Story Explorers, a new book discussion group for second- and third-graders and the students’ adult, meets every fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Sign up in the library. Club K3 is held on the third Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. Page Turners, for fourth- through sixth-graders and parents, is held on the first Tuesday of the month, from September to May, at 6:30 p.m. It is located at Lacamas Lake Lodge, 277 N.E. Lake Road, Camas. The Any Book Club meets every fourth Monday at 4 p.m., now until May. Teen Zine Club is on the first Wednesday of the month, from 3 to 5 p.m. This is for students in grades 7 through 12. Lego Club is held on the third Thursday of each month, at 4 p.m. The Pokemon Club meets every second Thursday at 4 p.m. The library, located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas, hosts weekly baby and family storytimes, in English, Russian and Spanish. Washougal Community Library

The adult book discussion will be Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This month’s book is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Lost and Found Cafe

Meals on Wheels

Camas Community Education

The Camas Community Education fall class schedule includes Art Van-Go Drawing and Paints, Chefs in Training, day camps, Early Learning classes, a variety of enrichment classes which include Lego building and engineering, Mad Science, My Dolly and Me dress design and tea, science olympiad; language, safety, and sports classes. Washougal Community Education

Fall camps include art and clay, dance, music for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Preschool camps include animal adventures and wacky water week. Camas Parks and Recreation

Babysitting training for you, for ages 11 to 15 years, is Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Camas Community Center, 1718 S.E. Seventh Ave. Fee is $90. The winter break camp, for ages 5 to 12 years, will have two sessions; Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 20 to 22 and Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 27 to 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Camas Community Center. Cost for one session is $90 in city; $108 for out of city with a $10 sibling discount; both sessions cost is $150 in city, $175 out of city with $10 sibling discount. Toddler and Me Yoga, for children ages 18 months to 5, is held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesdays at Lacamas Lodge, 227 N.E. Lake Road. Cost of the class is $10 (drop-in fee), which includes one adult and one child. Each additional child costs $2. Winter camps include soccer, Kung Fu for kids, Toddler and Me Yoga, preschool sports classes, adult fitness, arts and crafts workshops, adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED classes, and senior programs. Jazzercise Camas

MISCELLANEOUS

Daughters of Neptune

The Daughters of Neptune is a holding a boater education class on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Dolphin Yacht Club, 34 S. “A” St., Washougal. Lunch will be provided. The cost of this class is $25 per person. The class is open to ages 12 and older and class size is limited. Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce

The chamber’s holiday luncheon will be Thursday, Dec. 14, at Camas Meadows, 4105 N.W. Camas Meadows Drive. Doors will be open at 11 a.m. and the program running from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Baskets will be raffled off with the cost of tickets are $1 each. Cost for the luncheon will be $35 per person. Soroptimists International of Camas-Washougal

Riverside SDA Church
