The Port of Camas-Washougal Commission’s annual strategic and capital planning retreat will include discussions about potential property sales in the Steigerwald Commerce Center.

The sessions will be held Friday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Klickitat Room, at The Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive, Vancouver.

Other topics are expected to include the commission’s priorities for the port’s property near Washougal Waterfront Park and Trail. The port owns 27 acres, and Parker’s Landing LLC owns 13 acres of the former Hambleton Lumber Company property at 335 S. “A” St., Washougal.

The retreat will be open to the public, but no public input will be taken and no decisions will be made.

“We usually have this meeting in the spring, but the commission at the Jan. 3 meeting agreed we needed to have it sooner and break it into two days,” said Port Executive Director David Ripp. “The second meeting will be scheduled later in April or May, as in the past.”

The port’s capital budget, the five-year plan and future staffing needs will be among the topics at the meeting in the spring.
