Lawrence L. McEathron

Lawrence Lewis McEathron died in Washougal on Friday, Oct. 22, 2017. He was 87. Lawrence was born to Merrill and Gertrude (Finley) McEathron on June 22, 1930, in Harrisburg, New York. He was a 53-year resident of Clark County and a 45-year resident of Washougal.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas. Lawrence also served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of VFW Post No. 4278.  He was a also a member of Twin City Saddle Club. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his family. His other interests included fishing, hunting, flying small planes, motorcycles, and collecting boats, cars and tractors.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael, three brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, LaVesta, at home; sons, Lawrence L. McEathron Jr., of Captain Cook, Hawaii, Patrick V. (Tami) McEathron of Vancouver, and Jasen M. (Billie Jo) McEathron of Washougal; daughters, LaVesta Marie (Martin) Watson of Camas, Belinda L. McEathron of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Colleen Michele (Jon) Russell of Camas; sister, Elizabeth Glachman of Gouverneur, New York; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 324 N.E. Oak St., Camas. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Washougal.

Florence M. (Brown) Wall

Florence Marie (Brown) Wall died peacefully from heart failure at her home on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, with her family by her side. She was 89.

Florence’s life will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at Straub’s Funeral Home, 325 N.E. Third Ave., Camas. In lieu of flowers, Florence had requested memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice, or to either the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver or the Alzheimer’s Association, in order to one day eliminate a disease that affected many people Florence loved.

Peggy A. McClellan

Peggy Ann McClellan died on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017. She was 75. Peggy was born on Feb. 4, 1942, in Portland.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 5, at her brother Ron’s home, 2117 N.E. 93rd Court, Vancouver.

Lani K. Gordon

Lani Kay Gordon died on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, in Portland. She was 71.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association at www.kidneycancer.org.

Eleanor Vidinha Smart

Eleanor Vidinha Smart of Washougal died on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. She was 89.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 324 N.E. Oak St., Camas. Interment will be held in the spring of 2018 in Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 S.E. Mount Scott Blvd., Portland.

Richard Hendryx

Richard Hendryx died at his Camas home on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017. He was 82. Richard was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel in Vancouver. A complete obituary will appear in next week’s paper. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Straub’s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas.

Kay Johnson

Kay Johnson died on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, She was 74. Kay was born on Dec. 24, 1942. Services are pending at this time. Straub’s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph E. Peterson

Ralph Eric Peterson died on Friday. Oct. 27, in Camas. He was 91.
