Two Camas companies make Inc.’s fastest-growing list

Fuel Medical provides patient education materials, marketing support and business services for physicians, and has 93 employees.

With $13.1 million in revenue in 2016, Fuel Medical experienced 125-percent growth over three years.

Ford said the biggest areas of growth in the Camas office have been marketing, software development and web services.

“We have also doubled the size of our regional management teams in the field to better support our nationwide client base,” he said.

Parker said it is great to be recognized by Inc., but helping Fuel Medical’s customers grow their businesses is what motivates him and his employees.

“That is the best recognition we can receive,” Parker said.

He credits attracting “the best and the brightest people in our industry” as employees and building its success on word of mouth.

“As long we continue to focus on having a great team and taking excellent care of our clients, we expect to continue at this rate,” Parker said.

ERS rents construction and lawn and garden equipment

ERS is ranked 1,940th on this year’s Inc. 5,000 list. It was ranked 2,883th in 2016.

The company, founded in 2005 by Jerry and Mary Sauer, has 60 employees at its Camas location. ERS reported $14.1 million in revenue in 2016 and has seen a 197-percent growth rate over three years.

ERS sells and leases construction equipment to contractors. Tractors are available to rent, along with golf carts, stump grinders, generators and pressure washers. The ERS showroom includes supplies, such as diesel fuel additive and duct tape, that are available to purchase. The company also offers rental services of contractor tools and lawn and garden equipment.

Jerry Sauer credits the “outstanding team” at ERS for the company being named to the Inc. list two years in a row.

“Customer service is the cornerstone at ERS,” he said. “We thrive on taking on the most difficult projects that our customers throw at us with a can do attitude.”

Mary said the challenges of running a successful company include “finding the right people for the right seats.”

“With unemployment so low, it is hard to find qualified people who fit our family business culture,” she said.
