Cooling off in Camas-Washougal

There are several locations in the Camas-Washougal area to escape the heat.

The Camas Public Library is open until 6 p.m. today/Thursday, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The library is located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. For more information, call 360-834-4692.

The Washougal Community Library, a designated cooling center by the city of Washougal, is open today to 6 pm., as well as from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The library is located at 1661 “C” St., Washougal. For more information, call 360-906-4860.

Area residents are invited to cool off in the Washougal City Hall, 1701 “C” St. today until 5 p.m., and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St., from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, and from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday. For more information, call City Hall at 360-835-8501.

The Salvation Army of Camas-Washougal day center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

“Anyone is welcome to come enjoy the air conditioned building during those hours,” said Salvation Army Pastor Samantha Wheeler. “We show a movie every day (that) we are open at 2 p.m., with free popcorn.”
