A Camas woman has been booked into the Clark County Jail for first degree attempted murder of her boyfriend.

Camas Police arrested Emily Javier, 30, Saturday, March 3, after responding to a reported domestic disturbance at 1:54 a.m., at 2013 NE Garfield St.

Camas Police said Javier called 911 and reported that she had just stabbed her boyfriend of two years, Alex Lovell, 29, with a sword and thought he was dead.

When police arrived, Javier was walking out of the residence and into the front yard with her hands up, surrendering. She was placed into custody without incident.

Lovell was found inside their joint residence, with several life-threatening injuries. He was treated and transported to an area hospital by the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. Lovell is currently in critical condition.

Detectives served a search warrant at the scene and seized a samurai sword and additional knives. Police believe the attack was motivated by jealousy.

The investigation by the Camas police is ongoing, with assistance of the Regional Major Crimes Team.
