PUBLIC MEETINGS

Camas School District: The board will meet for the East County electeds dinner and conversations Friday, March 16, at 6 p.m., at Excelsior High School, 1401 39th St., Washougal.

LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Camas Public Library: For those who love to sew, knit or crochet, the “Sit and Stitch” group will meet by the fireplace from 1 to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays throughout March. Read to Cooper, the dog, at the library, from 4 to 5 p.m., every Tuesday and Thursday. Each session is 15 minutes long and advanced sign-up is required. Holocaust Studies will be held Fridays, March 23, 30, April 6, 20 and 27, at 1 p.m., and presented by retired Camas High School teacher Hannelore Tweed. A healthy aging class will be held Saturday, March 17, at 10:30 a.m., and the topic is Nutrition, Digestion and Aging. Healthful Gluten-Free Living is Wednesday, March 21, at 6:45 p.m., and is presented by Daniele Della Valle NTP from Natural Grocers. Second Story Gallery: Second Story Gallery features the photography of Daniel Ionashku through Saturday, March 31. The gallery, located at 625 N.E. SENIOR CITIZENS

Seniors And Law Enforcement Together: The group presents Music Therapy Monday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Camas Police Department, 2100 N.E. Third Ave. Guest speaker is Anne Vitort, MT-BC.

Meals on Wheels: Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, in the Washougal Community Center, at 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed. Camas Senior Center: Camas seniors will visit Bob’s Red Mill in Milwaukie, Oregon, Thursday, March 29, followed by a trip to Bob’s Whole Grain Store and Restaurant. The bus will load at Pendleton Woolen Mill in Washougal at 10 a.m. The bus fee is $5, and bring money for lunch and shopping. Call LaRhea Steele at 360-433-6426 for reservations. The Camas seniors have a new casino bus schedule. This year, casino trips alternate between Nisqually Red Wind Casino and Lucky Eagle Casino. Washougal Senior Center: The Washougal Senior Center provides coffee from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Meals on Wheels serves lunch at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. At 11 a.m., on Mondays, the center hosts a food bank. At 1 p.m., on Mondays, there is a “hand and foot” clinic. At 10 a.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays, the center hosts an exercise class (this class is held in Camas at 10 a.m. on Fridays). Billiards is played at 1 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, the center hosts “Music with Jeffree,” and at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, “Music with Gabe.” The watercolor class is held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, there will be an exercise class at 10 a.m., gift bingo at 11 a.m., and regular bingo at 1 p.m. On Thursdays, the tai chi class (held in Camas) begins at 9:30 a.m. The center also hosts pinochle at 1 p.m. on Thursdays.

Camas Community Education: The Camas Community Education winter class schedule includes Art Van-Go Drawing and Paints, Chefs in Training, day camps, Early Learning classes; a variety of enrichment classes, which include Lego building and engineering, Mad Science, My Dolly and Me dress design and tea, science olympiad; as well as language, safety and sports classes. Imagination Yoga: Imagination Yoga is a nationally recognized yoga program. Erika Levy, a certified Imagination Yoga teacher, introduces kids to yoga through “imaginative associations” through adventure stories such as taking children to the jungle, outer space, swamps and back in time. NatureScaping: NatureScaping is hosting Natural Pruning, Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. This class is presented by Allen Wilson, retired professor of landscape horticulture.
