Washougal Parks Board members to be honored

The Parks Foundation of Clark County will recognize longtime Washougal Parks Board members Janice Ferguson and Shirley Scott during its annual luncheon and membership meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at The Hilton, 301 W. Sixth St., Vancouver.

Ferguson and Scott will receive a Florence B. Wager V-Formation Flyer Award, in honor of their years of service and leadership on behalf of parks, trails and recreation in Washougal. In addition to serving on the parks board, Ferguson is a co-founder and president of the Washougal Arts and Culture Alliance and member of the Clark County Arts Commission, while Scott volunteers at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum, in Washougal.

Del Schleichert, a former director of Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation, will receive the Parks Foundation’s Leading Eagle Award, and Randy Wray, retired recently from Ridgefield in the parks maintenance department, has been named the recipient of the Tributary Award.
