Police have identified a woman was killed in a Camas-area collision Wednesday night as 22-year-old Kaylene Christensen of Washougal.

According to a press release sent early Thursday morning, Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency medical crews responded to a 911 call reporting a car had collided with a large tree at 10:32 p.m., Wednesday, at Northeast 14th Street and Northeast 249th Avenue, located about 1.5 miles northwest of the Grove Field airport north of Camas.

First responders found the vehicle, an older-model BMW sedan, and the deceased driver, later identified as Christensen, at the site.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit also responded and is investigating.

In the press release, law enforcement said it was “apparent that excessive speed is a causing factor in this collision.”
