The city of Camas Parks and Recreation Department has rescheduled the “Thanks for the Memories” gathering to celebrate the 65-year-old Camas Municipal Pool, which is set to be demolished later this month.

The event, originally scheduled for Feb. 9, was cancelled due to snow. The city plans to honor the pool’s history from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Camas Community Center, 1718 S.E. Seventh Ave., Camas.

The community is invited to share pool memories on “memory cards” and by bringing up to five favorite pool memories for the city staff to scan and save for archival reference. The photos and memory cards will be held in public archives at the Camas Public Library and the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in Washougal.

The event will feature photo boards, a meet-and-greet with Parks and Recreation staff and light refreshments. For questions related to the “Thanks for the Memories” event on Feb. 28, email Krista Bashaw at kbashaw@cityofcamas.us or call her at 360-817-7991.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to share your historic photos, please email up to five photos before Feb. 27 to kbashaw@cityofcamas.us.
