A downtown Washougal salon that already provides microblading, manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing recently added haircuts and colors to its menu of services.
Hairstylists Kimberly Coe and Rachel Reiser have set up shop, along with the other independent contractors, at Glo Beauty Lounge.
Glo Beauty Lounge Manager Darlynn Taylor said she added two hairstylists to the business because clients wanted to be able to have all their services done at the same location.
“They love the vibe and atmosphere (of Glo),” Taylor said. “Many clients wanted to keep their money in their hometown and not drive to Camas, Vancouver or Portland. Washougal only has four hair salons, so many Washougal residents are in need of a hairdresser.”
Coe provides haircuts for men, women and children, as well as hair color treatments and beard trims. In addition to haircuts, colors and highlights for women and haircuts for children, Reiser is certified to offer manicures, pedicures and facial waxing.
Coe, 49, first became interested in styling hair when she was in middle school.
“I have curly hair and never got a good haircut, so l wanted to change that,” she said.
Coe, of Washougal, has attended beauty school and Vidal Sassoon courses. She earned certifications from Schwarzkopf and Redken and attends hair shows and seminars as part of her continuing education.
Reiser, 28, said hair has always been a big part of her life.
“I’ve always loved to do my hair and makeup, as well for my friends’, growing up,” she said.
Reiser is a licensed cosmetologist with seven years experience. She attended beauty school, and said she was ready to get back into her career after having her third child.
Services at Glo also include spray tanning, permanent makeup, lash extensions and body piercing.
