"Peacock Want a Be," a sample quilt by Joanne Adams Roth, will be part of the Vagabonds quilting group's "Whispers in the Wind" art show at the Second Story Gallery in downtown Camas throughout December and January. The show will feature 12-inch squares stitched by local quilters Ada Levins, Roth, Wilma Fletcher Scott, Audrey Prothero, Karan Brooks, Sharry Olmstead, Lynn Czaban, Beverly Woodard and Val Pellens. Camas Public Library: The library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3. Slavic storytime (in Russian and Ukrainian) will begin at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Korean storytime will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Tiny Tots Storytime will be held at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4. ART GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS

Second Story Gallery: The gallery is featuring abstract paintings by Ami Brimhall and pierced pottery vessels by Linda Kliewer throughout November. The gallery will host an artists’ reception during First Friday on Dec. 6, to celebrate the December-January show featuring artwork by nine local quilters. The gallery is located on the second floor of the Camas Public Library. Art is available for viewing during regular library hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. SENIOR CITIZENS

Meals on Wheels: Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, in the Washougal Community Center, at 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed. Washougal Senior Center: Meals on Wheels provides coffee from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and serves lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The center hosts a food bank at 11 a.m. on Mondays. Activities offered during the week include: cribbage, bingo, bunco, pinochle, billiards, watercolor painting and exercise classes. A breakfast fundraiser, to support Washougal Community Center activities, is held on the last Friday of each month (except November and December) from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $5. A potluck is held on the first Friday of each month. Refuel Friday, sponsored by local churches and nonprofits, is offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Friday.
